Who are we?

Our team is incredible. We’re not just a team because we work together; we’re a team because we respect, trust and care for one another as we do for our clients. Let us introduce ourselves.

Kylie Rankin – Director and Principal physiotherapist

Kylie is an extremely compassionate, caring, and empathetic physiotherapist, utilising her skills to help individuals find comfort and live a better quality of life. She is an experienced musculoskeletal and manual physiotherapist, however, also specialises in Pilates Rehabilitation and is an educator for Polestar Pilates Australia. Kylie has gained further qualifications, specialising in women’s Health physiotherapy and works closely with several doctors and specialists to assist women throughout all stages of life with pelvic health. Kylie is available for consultations Monday – Friday, and also takes a couple clinical rehab classes throughout the week.

Jo Altman – Operations Manager & personal trainer

Jo works hard behind the scenes to keep the cogs turning smoothly. As well as “manning” the desk, Jo takes private 1:1 personal training sessions in the studio. Outside the clinic, you’ll find Jo (aka DJ Josh) spinning the decks at some of Adelaide’s hottest clubs, festivals, radio stations and parties. Speak to Jo if you have a clinic related question or are interested in 1:1 personal training.

Jim Mack – Musculoskeletal physiotherapist & educator

Jim is our musculoskeletal physiotherapy guru with specialties in the hips/pelvis, elbows and feet. Through his years of experience as a physiotherapist, Jim is passionate about sharing and showing his knowledge with “greener” colleagues, at university as a lecturer as well as through mentoring. At his core, Jim is a “healthy ageing” advocate. He works with clients through a combination of hands-on treatment, education, and functional training (mobility and strength). Jim takes a couple functional strength classes throughout the week to help people build strength and move better to optimise their long-term health. Jim is available for consults Tuesday & Thursday afternoons, and Monday mornings. Jim also takes a couple functional rehab classes during these days.

Erin Pregarc – Physiotherapy, dance and women’s health

Erin shares her time between physiotherapy consults and treatments, and instructing our rehab Pilates classes. While she enjoys treating musculoskeletal conditions, Erin’s two main areas of focus are dance and women’s health physiotherapy; both of which she has undertaken extensive additional training for, in Australia and the United States. Since having two gorgeous girls of her own, Erin understands first-hand how impactful and important pre- and post-natal physiotherapy is, and enjoys helping women through their pregnancy journeys and beyond. Erin is available for both consults and clinical rehab classes on Wednesday & Saturday mornings, and Friday afternoons.

Sophie Alderslade – Physiotherapist, musculoskeletal & women’s health

We are delighted to have Sophie join us full-time as of August 2022 with availability Monday – Thursday. Sophie is passionate about women’s health and has recently been undertaking further study into the field. She particularly loves working with expecting and new mothers to support their journey through pregnancy and into early motherhood. She strives to help women reclaim their power, confidence and perform at their peak through all stages of life! Sophie also takes some of our clinical rehab classes throughout the week as well as our Pre-natal class to help mamas move safely throughout their pregnancy.

Lucy Hayes – Physiotherapist, musculoskeletal & women’s health

high res

Lucy’s relationship with Pivotal started in 2021 when she came to see Kylie for treatment of pelvic pain related to endometriosis. Managing her own pelvic pain sparked Lucy’s passion for working in this area and she has since been completing further training in pelvic health. Lucy has experience in sports injury rehabilitation; helping clients successfully return to sport in a better condition than pre-injury. She enjoys equipping people with the tools and empowerment to collaboratively manage their conditions. Lucy is available Tuesday mornings, Wednesdays and Fridays for both treatment and classes.

Atlanta Flitton – Musculoskeletal physiotherapist

Atlanta’s background is multi-faceted, and she holds a unique set of three scientific qualifications in Physiotherapy, Neurosciences and Medical Science. Her areas of special interest include the conservative management of hip and knee osteoarthritis (as a certified GLA:D provider) and the non-pharmacological treatment of headache and migraine (Level 1 Watson Headache Approach, and due to accreditation as a Lymphedema Therapist in December 2022). Atlanta is also an active researcher at the University of South Australia and has contributed to 10 publications (see: https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Atlanta-Flitton). The dual roles of researcher and clinician allow her to combine her passion for health science and clinical, one-to-one treatment. She juggles this with her most important role, mum to a tribe of active kids. Atlanta is available on Saturdays for both consults and classes.

Ella Browne – Pilates instructor

Ella undertook her Polestar Pilates training in New Zealand and is currently completing her uni studies. She’s been passionate about all things health and wellness throughout her life (growing up as a competitive swimmer) and loves sharing this with her clients to work towards their fitness goals. Ella advocates the importance of balancing physical and mental wellbeing, which led her to Pilates and rings true in her classes. Ella takes Pilates classes on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Sally Tutill – Pilates instructor

In addition to her extensive Pilates training and instructor experience, Sally also specialises in gyro kinesis, fitness, flow, joint integrity and fascial release practices. She has a sixth sense for listening and tuning into individuals’ bodies, the way they move and what they need. She pulls from a number of different movement approaches to create her own unique style, fuelled by her passion in instructing (making her classes as popular as they are fun!). Sally takes Pilates classes on Thursday mornings.

Annie Johns – Restorative Yoga and well-being instructor

Annie has been a yoga practitioner for more than 20 years and a teacher/facilitator for six. She specialises in restorative practices, and more recently as a yoga therapist. Her specialised area of focus is the therapeutic application of yoga for chronic pain, stress and anxiety management, as she’s incredibly passionate about managing pain and stress through down regulating the central nervous system. Annie is available for private restorative yoga sessions on Tuesdays.

Emma McIntyre – Administration and receptionist

Em goes above and beyond to ensure everyone is greeted with the most vibrant, bubbly and energetic energy as soon as they enter the clinic. She knows every vacant appointment, scheduled class, physio roster, phone number, password and email address in the building.

Em also takes part in our Pilates classes each week as a means to keep fit and healthy, so when you see her, always say “hi”!

Honey

Our adored therapy/clinic pup, Honey is often in reception, welcoming clients and keeping their laps warm while they wait. This beautiful girl loves meeting everyone and occasionally takes on a quality assurance role, checking in classes to make sure things are running smoothly. She’s passionate about cuddles, licks and treats, but understands not everyone likes Honey in their cup of tea. If you’d prefer a pup-free experience before you visit Pivotal, just let us know and we’ll happily get her doing admin in the back office when you arrive.

We can’t wait to see you in clinic soon.
