TURN UP THE HEAT (bags)!

Applying heat to muscles increases blood flow to the area, which helps relax muscle tension/tightness, relieve aching joints and reduce pain. It also improves range of motion in a joint by reducing stiffness in a joint that perhaps isn’t moving as well. However, fundamentally, this is a sort of inflammatory response as it opens the blood vessels, so it’s important to keep that in mind.
